THE JOB
Hy-Tech is adding Welder/Fabricators to our growing teams in Smithers, BC, and Saskatoon, SK. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Welder/Fabricator is responsible for welding, fabrication and assembly of drill equipment to ensure that equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate. This position is responsible for ensuring all work is done in accordance with Hy-Tech procedures and follows safe work practices. We are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out the following key responsibilities:
•Plan the fabrication and assembly of new drill pieces.
•Determine the most efficient and safe course of action for repairs.
•Inspect and test welded equipment after assembly, repair, and/or maintenance.
•Clean and paint drill equipment.
•Understand schematic and manufacturer manuals to support the repair and maintenance/welding, fabrication, and assembly/machining assembly process.
•Supervises Apprentices by being a safety leader.
•Safely operates shop and drill equipment.
•Order parts and equipment.

THE SETTING
These positions are based out of the Company Headquarters in Smithers, BC, and the Branch Location in Saskatoon, SK, in a shop environment. There is also a requirement to work outside in all weather conditions. Possible exposure to dust, hazardous chemicals, and high levels of noise.
THE SCHEDULE
Standard working hours are 6:00am – 2:30pm Monday to Friday in Smithers, BC, and 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday in Saskatoon, SK. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

•Must have a valid driver’s licence and provide a current drivers abstract annually.
•3-5 years of experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a related industry.
•Strong welding/fabricating knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and make repairs to a wide range of material and equipment. Basic machinist and mechanical ability is required.
•Knowledge of diamond drill equipment and drilling methodologies is an asset.
•Red Seal Welding Certification is an asset.
•Basic computer skills in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email and the internet.
