The VP, Asset Management, will oversee the performance, reliability, and economic optimization of SunVest’s operating solar portfolio and associated AssetCo vehicles. This includes leadership of the Asset Management team, P&L ownership of the asset portfolio, investor reporting and relationship management, compliance oversight, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations & Maintenance, Accounting, Finance, Structured Finance, and Development teams.
The ideal leader is detail-oriented, operationally excellent, financially strong, and capable of building a high-performing team and scalable systems. This role requires exceptional communication skills, strong executive presence, and the ability to maintain enterprise-level situational awareness across a diverse set of assets and stakeholders.
- Lead the Asset Management Team:
Develop and execute a staffing plan and hiring strategy to grow a high-caliber Asset Management team. Manage internal performance standards and third-party work product, including Accounting partners, Aggregators, and O&M providers. Establish cost-efficiency benchmarks with a target Asset Management cost of
<
$3/kWdc and continuous reduction of 3rd-party cost per kWdc. Build a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and proactive portfolio oversight.
- Own Portfolio P&L and Operational Performance
: Drive initiatives to maximize electricity production, ensure high availability, and minimize controllable losses. Manage and optimize project operating expenses including O&M, land expenses, taxes, insurance, and other variable costs. Lead strategies to maximize variable revenues such as tradable RECs, subscriber management income, and other revenue-enhancing levers. Deliver portfolio-level EBITDA and financial performance targets through disciplined management and operational optimization.
- Investor Relations:
Serve as the primary relationship manager for AssetCo investors. Lead all investor communications, reporting, distributions, and waterfall calculations. Produce accurate, timely, and high-quality deliverables with minimal revisions required from senior leadership. Build long-term trust and credibility with investment partners, targeting minimal escalations and minimal need for senior leadership guidance.
- Compliance Management:
Develop a comprehensive compliance matrix for all AssetCo and project deliverables. Build a scalable platform for tracking, forecasting, and reporting compliance deadlines across all internal and external obligations. Ensure 100% of compliance items are tracked and reported in advance of due dates, with early escalation of risks to senior leadership. Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and audit readiness across the portfolio.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MS, or technical/financial advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in asset management, portfolio operations, project finance, renewable energy, or related infrastructure sectors.- Demonstrated success leading high-performing operational or financial teams.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L management, EBITDA drivers, and investor reporting.
- Experience managing third-party operators, service providers, and accounting or aggregation partners.
- Exceptional communication skills with proven track record of investor or stakeholder engagement.
- Deep understanding of renewable energy operations, performance metrics, compliance requirements, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Motivated, detail-oriented, operationally rigorous, and aligned with SunVest’s mission and values.

The salary range for this role reflects the broad array of factors considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $200k-$250k
