Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Develop and implement the strategic technology plan and comprehensive product road map with COO & CEO for the Engineering Department.
•Accountable for establishing and evolving the vision for Strata’s engineering department by managing the intersections of EPC, O&M, and C&I.
•Conduct business-level verification, reliability and market testing of new solutions.
•Attract, develop and retain electrical engineers, geotech engineers, civil engineers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers and designers for increased capacity to execute product roadmap. Manages a team of 15-30 engineers.
•Oversee the Program Management function and execution of FTR (First Time Right).
•Continuous engineering process experience.
•Operational focus and the ability/previous experience implementing an operating system for engineering.
•Ensure that electrical plant designs are being produced in compliance with contractual requirements and applicable codes; under budget and on time.
•Manage development and application of cost effective design approaches.
•Assure strict compliance of produced designs with the National Electrical Code.
•Manage technical support to supply chain activities in terms of preparation of technical specifications, bid evaluations and vendor submittal reviews.
•Participate in supplier validation efforts.
•Support construction activities through timely responses to field questions, clarification of design approaches and evaluation of alternate designs.
•Development of resource planning for medium and long-term operations of the Electrical Engineering Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises Senior Designer, Engineer, Civil Engineer, Civil Site Designer, and Designer. Assists with interviewing and conducts peer reviews for the department.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
•BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
•Possess 10+ years of directly related engineering experience.
•NC Registered Professional Engineer.
•Minimum 15 years engineering experience with experience working in the field.
•Proficient with AutoCAD (desired) and MS Office.
•Proven management with PV projects, desired.
•Experience in supervising and developing staff
•Comfortable presenting to and interacting with consultants, authorities with jurisdiction, and regulatory agencies.
•Ability to obtain out-of-state PE license.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Work is performed in the office and in the field. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds. May be exposed to weather elements when in the field.
