Join a safety-first team where mentorship, craftsmanship, and on-time delivery matter. As our Turbine/Generator Welding Team Lead, you’ll coordinate people and process to deliver high-spec welds on critical rotating equipment.
- Lead and coach a crew of welders; onboard, train, and support continuous skill growth.
- Schedule daily work, balance resources, and drive to deadlines and production goals.
- Perform/oversee weld repair and manufacturing on turbine and generator components.
- Verify weld quality to manufacturer and company standards; document all work.
- Disassemble/assemble turbine-generator components; prep and blend to spec.
- Troubleshoot with site managers/supervisors and Quality to improve processes.
- Operate forklifts and cranes to move parts and assemblies.
- Keep the shop clean; ensure OSHA and company safety compliance.
- Pitch in across the shop as needed.
- 5–10 years’ experience (preferred) with strong leadership/people-management skills.
- Power Generation familiarity (preferred).
- Willingness for significant mandatory overtime during busy seasons.
- Fixture assembly and use experience.
- Measurement expertise: calipers, vernier calipers, ID/OD micrometers, etc.
- Blueprint and technical spec interpretation skills.
- Ability to execute delicate, precision welds with minimal distortion.
- Experience with specialty alloys: INCO, Hastelloy X, stainless, carbon steel, etc.
- Understanding of metallurgy and welding equipment setup/operation.
- Mechanical aptitude; clear written and verbal communication.
- Skill in anticipating changes, organizing work, and communicating concisely to meet objectives.
- Excellent organizational habits and reliability.
- Stamina for extended standing/walking; frequent bending, reaching, lifting.
- Ability to follow safety rules set by the customer and ARMS.
- OSHA 10 (preferred); valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass drug test and background check.
