Trade Analyst, Risk Management

Rockpoint is currently searching for a Trade Analyst to join our Risk Management team.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Risk, the Trade Analyst’s primary responsibilities are to ensure timeliness and integrity of trade data, reconcile any variances that may arise, prepare daily and weekly reports and respond to trade-related information requests.

Although this opportunity is challenging, it is an entry level role and does involve a large amount of data entry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain a strong foundation in Natural Gas Storage and Energy Trading.

Key Accountabilities

- Data entry of Trade information into the Risk System

- Load forward prices and settlement information

- Complete “end of day” quality control checks that validate trades, positions and counterparties

- Generate/review incoming/outgoing trade confirmations

- Serve as a liaison between the Risk, Trade, Scheduling and external counterparties to ensure the accuracy of trades and to resolve any variances that may arise

- Create reports and provide coverage and support for the Risk Reporting analyst

- Report any trade violations to the Director and Manager of Risk so they can be investigated

- Organize and file all trade-related paperwork

Education and Experience:

- Successful completion of diploma or degree program

- 1+ years oil & gas industry experience preferred - 1+ years of experience working in a commodity Trading environment would be an asset
