Tier 2 Maintenance Technicians handle most plant repair work including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) that control automated manufacturing equipment, make minor adjustments.
- Perform MIG welding repairs on machinery components and structural elements to uphold safety and operational standards.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to facilitate accurate repairs.
- Conduct facilities maintenance tasks including residential painting, plumbing, and general upkeep to support a safe work environment.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance history, and schedule preventive maintenance activities.
- Supervise junior technicians or contractors during maintenance projects while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Lead small teams during shift operations, demonstrating leadership skills while maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Begin learning HVAC fundamentals
- Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and 480-volt systems
- Proven experience in manufacturing or facilities maintenance roles with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to industrial equipment.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools essential for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Demonstrated welding skills combined with electrical experience for comprehensive repair capabilities.
- Supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and maintenance tracking.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with team members and report issues clearly.
