Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, Technical Services, you will lead the Mine Planning, Geology, and Geotechnical departments. You serve as the vital link between long-term strategy and execution, ensuring that tactical plans are safe, geologically accurate, and seamlessly aligned with the Life of Mine (LOM) vision. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Act as the primary technical partner to the Strategic LOM and Resource Modeling teams. You will ensure that tactical pit designs and sequences honor the long-term value drivers while providing "boots-on-the-ground" feedback to refine future resource models and LOM assumptions.
Direct the 0–36 months and 5-year planning window, transforming the LOM strategy into high-precision, executable schedules that meet production targets while optimizing equipment utilization.
Oversee the geotechnical team to manage slope stability, monitoring, and ground support designs. You are responsible for ensuring that the pit remains a safe and stable environment for personnel and equipment.
Lead the Mine Geology department in executing world-class grade control and reconciliation. Ensure that the reserve and grade control models are effectively applied at the face to minimize dilution and maximize metal recovery.
Provide technical governance over all active mining areas, ensuring that haul roads, benches, and waste dumps are built to engineered specifications.
Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks—whether geotechnical instability or geological variance—before they impact the production critical path.
Develop a high-performing technical culture, mentoring engineers and geoscientists to bridge the gap between theoretical design and operational reality.
