PRIMARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to effectively perform the following duties; other duties may be assigned.
•Manage Windows Server Environments: Administer and maintain approximately 50 Windows Servers (2019 and later), ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
•Oversee VMware Infrastructure: Administer and maintain VMware-based virtual environments ensuring seamless operations.
•Maintain Backup Solutions: Manage and monitor Veeam backup solutions, performing regular checks, restores, and updates to ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
•Support SQL Server: Install and maintain SQL Server instances, performing routine maintenance and backups to ensure database availability (no DBA-level responsibilities).
•Execute Server Updates: Independently perform at least-monthly server OS updates, coordinating patches and upgrades to minimize disruptions and maintain compliance.
•Manage End-User Devices and Accounts: Configure and deploy laptops, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and create/maintain user accounts in Entra ID (Azure) and AD.
•Enhance Azure Integration: Support Azure AD sync and contribute to integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud solutions.
•Resolve Helpdesk Tickets: Address a wide range of IT-related helpdesk requests, from end user support to system troubleshooting, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
•Software Support: Install and support Microsoft 365 and Adobe products, along with a variety of other software packages, some specific to oil & gas operations.
•Travel to Remote Sites: Occasionally travel to remote sites to perform IT maintenance, upgrades, or support tasks, ensuring consistent infrastructure performance across locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
•A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
•A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
•A minimum of 5 years of hands-on system administration experience with Windows Server environments and virtualized infrastructure is required.
•Professional certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional, etc.) are preferred.
•Proficiency with Windows Server (2019 and later), VMware, Veeam, SQL Server (installation and maintenance), and Azure AD is required; familiarity with Azure Virtual Machines is preferred.
•A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally to remote sites is required.
•An ability to handle a broad range of IT-related tasks with on-call support as needed is required.
