We are looking for an energetic and motivated Surveyor support surveying activities for the continued development and safe execution of our Hammerdown Project near King’s Point, Newfoundland and Labrador. This is a unique opportunity be part of a team to play a pivotal role in bringing the province’s next gold mine into production. Our Hammerdown Project is an open pit gold mining operation, which will supply our operating Pine Cove mill, located approximately 100km from Hammerdown, near the town of Ming’s Bight on the Baie Verte peninsula.
Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Surveyor is responsible for accuracy in mapping and data collection, adhering to legal and regulatory standards, conducting precise measurements and assessments of land, structures, and boundaries to support engineering, construction, and land development projects.
Your Role in the Expedition: As a surveyor, you’ll be part of a dynamic team. Your responsibilities will include:
· Adhere to and support all health, safety and environmental rules and procedures and company policies
· Perform land surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments.
· Collect and analyze spatial data for construction, property boundaries, and topographical mapping.
· Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and drawings.
· Verify accuracy of survey data and resolve discrepancies.
· Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to provide accurate site information.
· Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal surveying regulations.
· Operate and maintain surveying equipment and software.
· Other duties as necessary in support of surveying.
· The employee will be based at King’s Point, NL, the Hammerdown Project Site.
· Post secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
· Proven experience in land surveying for mining, construction, or engineering projects.
· Proficiency in operating GPS, total stations, and other surveying instruments.
· Strong skills in data collection and spatial analysis for property boundaries, topographical mapping, and construction layouts.
· Ability to prepare accurate survey reports, maps, and drawings.
· Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal surveying regulations.
· Familiarity with surveying software and data processing tools.
· Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills for resolving discrepancies in survey data.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, and operations teams.
