Position Summary:
Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure the accuracy of purchasing and planning signals.
Maximize supply chain effectiveness through summarizing purchasing and planning signals to coordinating actions for resolving constraints and developing strategies to maintain appropriate inventory levels for optimizing order fulfillment expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Perform quarterly inventory analysis to determine appropriate stocking levels for all materials with sensitivity to value of physical inventory and developing plans to eliminate variances
•Support and aid in the daily/ monthly collection and automation of supply chain and planning metrics
•Design and manage control systems and reporting to improve efficiency of supply chain and planning analysis and decisions
•Develop and design forecasting system to leverage historical data along with sales forecast predictions to create and execute proactive signals to supply chain and planning teams
•Collaborate with Sales/ Customer Service on weekly forecast and extrapolate material forecast to inform supply chain team with data to enable procurement decisions
•Become proficient in day-to-day activities of buyers in order to backup duties should the need arise
•Collaborate with Engineering on material/ product transitions (phase in – phase out) and new production development to communicate strategies with purchasing team to minimize obsolete inventory
•Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and Supply Chain to develop inventory strategies to reduce slow moving, excess, or obsolete inventory
•Perform regular data checks within the ERP system to ensure data integrity is being maintained and operational teams are complying with outlined processes and guidelines
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as Syteline or a similar system.
•Knowledge of machine and plant capacities, routings, bills of material, lead times, and product structure.
•Ability to present and communicate analysis results clearly and effectively with data-driven outcomes
•Ability to work in a changing environment that is dynamic and has priorities that change often and quickly.
•Ability to collect and distill data sets from ERP/ MRP software to generate decision making reports
•Ability to analyze large data sets and provide concise and clear actions for cross-functional teams to execute
•Passionate about quality of work with high attention to detail
•Knowledgeable of supply chain and inventory strategies
•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
•Ability to prioritize tasks
Required Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Operations and Supply Chain Management with a minimum of 3 years of demand and/or supply planner experience
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management within an ERP environment
•MRO and indirect purchasing experience is a plus
Preferred Qualifications
•APICS certification – CPIM or CSCP
