The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $85,900 - $107,375
Job Summary
The Supervisor - General Administration supervises the daily activity of third-party master data within General Administration in compliance with the Administration model within Iberdrola Global Business Service (GBS) and Avangrid policies and procedures. Oversee activity relating to foreign suppliers and the IRS withholding tax requirements related to foreign payments. Manage the information to meet tax reporting obligations in collaboration with the Avangrid Tax department in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations. Position is responsible for leading a team of two people to deliver a high level of value added and cost-effective services.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the Avangrid Administration Management team, this position supports Avangrid Administration Senior Management as required, driving delivery of Administration objectives. This position requires strong communication skills, independent initiative and collaboration across Finance, Corporate Areas and the business areas of Avangrid.
•Provide leadership and guidance to a staff of 2 employees, including performance management and related activities.
•Manage and ensure the observance of the policies, criteria and procedures established by Tax, Finance and Administration Departments, identifying discrepancies and proactively working to improve alignment with the model beyond the purely transactional duties. For example: Preventing fraud across the Group through bank account validation tools that verify account details and user identity, reducing the risk of fraudulent transactions.
•Participate and provide effective support in new projects, coordinating with Administration Senior Management and GBS.
•Assess available resources and anticipate issues while mitigating risks.
•Utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate and collaborate effectively and regularly with colleagues at all levels within the organization.
•Manage intricate complexities and streamline information, while leveraging strategic thinking to drive organizational success.
•Plan, schedule, and direct activities for the General Administration US function for third-party master data, adhering to established organizational policies.
•Mitigate bank account fraud using validation tools to verify account details and user identity, reducing fraudulent transactions while complying with Nacha's Account Validation requirements.
•Manage information on reporting and withholding requirements, providing evidence for tax reporting.
•Ensure accurate and timely filing of 1099 and 1042-S IRS forms to avoid penalties, working with the Corporate Tax team to submit 1042 form filings.
•Comply with tax reporting requirements and subsequent changes or updates related to 1099 and 1042-S IRS federal and state reporting
•Daily, review foreign payments to ensure withholding requirements compliance with IRS tax deposit schedules.
•Drive success as both an individual contributor and team member.
•Limited travel requirement, 1 trip annually between Portland, ME and Orange, CT based on department budget.

Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline plus meaningful relevant experience.
•4 to 6 years relevant experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
•Knowledge of Tax Reporting.
•Working knowledge of ERP systems.
•Broad knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
•Professional background in international companies, including background in Finance at a multinational company (preferred).
•Proficiency in analytical thinking and problem-solving
•Attention to detail and organizational skills required to plan, manage, and prioritize tasks effectively.
•English language fluency and proficiency, both written and verbal. Spanish language proficiency or fluency an advantage.
•Demonstrated leadership experience.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
