LCRA is hiring a substation electrician to join our internal construction team! Come work alongside skilled professionals building critical substation electrical and control infrastructure, while enjoying the extraordinary Texas outdoors as your office. You will travel across Central Texas worksites (travel accommodations provided) and gain hands-on experience and valuable skills along the way. How You’ll Contribute
- Build electrical substations using construction skills and specialized tools.
- Read blueprints, consult manuals, parts lists and keep drawings and schematics up-to-date and accurate.
- Assist other teams as needed to complete project scopes.
- Three or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
- A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Class A Texas commercial driver's license
- Hands-on substation construction skills: operating heavy equipment, installing conduit/cable, constructing steel structures, crane operations, terminating conductors, etc.
- Experience with project-based work.
- General understanding of safe electrical utility operations.
