Role Purpose: Lead and oversee production team activities to ensure operational excellence and alignment with the company objectives. This role focuses on motivating, coordinating, training, and supporting team members to achieve individual and collective goals. Serves as key liaison between the production team and the broader organization.
- Ensure compliance with all safety hazards and proactively identify and address hazardous conditions.
- Direct, supervise, and coordinate daily production operations to meet performance targets.
- Coach, mentor, and set objectives for team members; maintain skilled, adaptable and efficient workforce.
- Drive product quality and process improvements to meet internal and customer requirements.
- Identify and resolve non-value-added activities and cost-related issues during production.
- Optimize resources- skills, labor hours, equipment and tools – for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and address equipment performance issues promptly.
- Provide input on cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Administer company and regulatory policies in all employee-related actions (hiring, transfers, disciplinary actions, etc.)
- Recommend personnel actions, training and development opportunities for department staff.
- Champion quality standard, 6S, and housekeeping programs.
- Prepare and deliver reports, including daily shift activity summaries.
- Promote Diversity & Inclusion in alignment with company guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in a unionized facility is preferred.
- Bachelor’s preferred, associate’s degree required. Equivalent education and experience considered.
- Strong knowledge of operations and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 applications.
