Are you a strategic leader with a passion for infrastructure excellence? We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Infrastructure Operations to play a key role in shaping the future of EPCOR’s U.S. operations.
In this pivotal position, you’ll be responsible for the performance, availability, and resilience of our Information Services infrastructure—including network, telephony, servers, storage, backup, email, desktop, and service desk systems. What you’d be responsible for
•Works with the Infrastructure senior leadership team on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources, including budget. Works with key stakeholders to prioritize issue remediation.
•Builds successful stakeholder relationships with other IT and EPCOR’s US business stakeholders by developing a clear understanding of business needs, acting as a trusted advisor, and ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs.
•Serve as the primary representative of the Corporate IS team in Regulated US business unit senior leadership meetings, providing insights, updates, and strategic recommendations on technology initiatives and business alignment
•Develops and controls the annual US IT budget to ensure that it's consistent with the overall strategic objectives of IT and is within plan. Creates a culture of continuous improvement and cost optimization.
•Collaborates with the Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Operations to define, develop, and manage a comprehensive and integrated IT Service Management (ITSM) strategy, based on best-practice processes and related toolsets. This includes delivery of a comprehensive IT Service Desk, Desktop Support and Asset Management program.
•Collaborates with the Sr. Manager, Security & Platform Services to ensure US IT embraces, and applies security strategy.
•Collaborates with the Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Planning & Architecture to improve US IT resilience by executing strategies that improve reliability, tolerability, and disaster recovery readiness. Facilitates the initiation of Infrastructure projects, aligned with Corporate IS strategy, and gather business requirements.
•Collaborates with the Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Program to ensure that project changes have been scheduled and communicated appropriately to US business stakeholders. Provides on-site resources to assist with changes and project execution.
•Operates a formal governance mechanism to establish and monitor effective controls for the processes and functions performed by the US IT teams. Supports periodic reviews by audit teams, compliance teams and other risk-related functions as required.
•Develops and executes a strategy to improve awareness of the business value that the IT function provides, and continuously seeks to ensure alignment to customer needs.
What’s required to besuccessful
•Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems.
•Minimum of 10 years directly related experience, including: at least 5 years’ experience with IS Infrastructure, 3 years’ experience with IS Infrastructure project implementations, combined with a minimum 5 years’ experience progressively responsible leadership roles.
•Experience working in a multinational company or cross-border business environment, with proven ability to work effectively in an international setting, managing cross-border projects and engaging with diverse stakeholders would be an asset
•High level of collaborative skills, as the ability to work cross-functionally and engage effectively with team members across IT is essential to success
•ITIL v4.0 certification is an asset.
•Deep understanding of current and emerging Infrastructure technologies and practices.
•Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate a US IT vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns with the IT and business strategy.
•Effective influencing and negotiation skills in complex environments where resources required for success may not be in direct control of this role.
•Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills.
•Ability to build consensus, make decisions based on many variables, and gain support for major initiatives.
•Self-starter who self-assesses and solicits feedback from others to improve their performance.
•Developing staff including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
•Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors by collaborating with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure standardization and maximize existing vendor agreements, while working closely with IT procurement and asset management to drive efficiency and alignment Demonstrated ability to develop governance practices to track and measure the quality of services, and maintain service improvement plans.
•Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic staffing plan that ensures the right people are in the right roles at the right time, and employees are highly engaged and satisfied.
•Must have the ability to travel to EPCOR Corporate headquarters in Canada on a monthly basis and the possession of a valid passport. Frequency of travel requirements to Canada may decrease to quarterly after the first 6 months.
•Budget planning and financial management.
•Establishing and improving ITIL working practices.
