POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will report to the Marketing Director at the Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for strategy and tactical execution across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok. This position will serve as the in-house content creator, working in real-time to provide meaningful content for Mahaffey Theater patrons and artists’ fans. This role requires a deep understanding of social media trends, analytics, and best practices to effectively promote our products and services across various channels. All efforts of this position will be tracked with engagement levels, traffic statistics and overall ticket sales to determine success.
This position requires open availability including working nights, weekends and select holidays for performances and events.
Major Responsibilities:
•In conjunction with the overall marketing strategy, devise and implement an organic social media strategy that covers all active Mahaffey Theater social channels.
•Manage all Mahaffey Theater social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc), including creating engaging content, content posting, monitoring engagement, responding to messages and comments, and expanding the Theater’s digital presence through new trends and mediums.
•Filming, creation, editing and posting of organic video content.
•Identify and target potential areas of growth in the digital space, across all digital channels.
•Capture photo and video content at shows and Mahaffey-related community events.
•Provide regular digital analytics reports to marketing team.
•Assist marketing team in overarching branding, theming and cross promotional content.
•Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
•Minimum 1 year of digital experience required with example video content.
•Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Word and Outlook.
•Ability to strategize, film, edit and post video content to multiple platforms.
•Prior entertainment industry experience preferred.
•Detail oriented with excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize and tackle tasks independently.
•Excellent written and verbal skills.
•Excellent interpersonal skills.
•Previous Customer Service experience with marketing and event experiences is a plus.
•Creative & proactive problem solver.
•Excellent research skills to identify emerging trends and audience preferences.
•Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and selected holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
