Position Summary: The Shop Manager has overall responsibility to supervise, direct and coordinate a crew of technicians in the repair of turbine components and equipment while ensuring a safe, efficient, and economical operation. This position requires a minimum of 10 years' journeyman shop/turbine experience.
· Supervises, trains, appraise, and coordinate the Sullivan, MO shop and field personnel.
· Ensures the safety, quality, reliable, legal, and efficient operation of the Sullivan shop on all required shifts.
· Coaches, mentors, and trains subordinates as required to establish expectations aligned with the company’s goals and to ensure an optimal level of performance.
· Administers the shop production schedule and all employee schedules, ensuring hours are properly allocated to the appropriate job and approved in the payroll system daily.
· Performs regular inspections on all machinery and maintain compliance with all regulations such as OSHA.
· Maintains all shop equipment and performs troubleshooting as needed to resolve issues.
· Assists in the development of quotes for repair shop and field activities as requested.
· Assists project management technically for all repair techniques and compliance to quality processes and procedures.
· Manages work to approved/sold work scope, schedules, and costs. Develops daily updates and reports as required.
· Prepares efficient plans for purchase of required materials and manage tooling inventory.
· Assists to maintain raw material inventory and monthly reporting of raw materials.
· Performs edit to labor allocations to jobs in Paylocity.
· Sets Paylocity goals and challenges for subordinates.
· Adjusts manpower needs as required for accurate project execution.
· Frequently Involved with new opportunity quoting, EWA’s and proposal processes.
· Manages and evaluates machine resources to ensure repairs and productivity and minimal downtime including mechanical failures, repairs, and overall maintenance on machines.
