The responsibilities of the Shop Manager include, but not limited to:
· Oversee maintenance and repair of all fleet equipment and vehicles.
· Supervise, update, and track the status and completion of all maintenance, repair work orders, parts usage, and reordering to maintain records and accountability for all work performed.
· Obtain quotes of materials, parts, repairs, rental equipment and provide them to the General Superintendent for review and approval.
· Place orders for supplies to the mechanic shop via purchase orders.
· Maintain inventory and location of equipment, trucks, and small tools.
· Be able to assist the mechanics with equipment repairs.
· Make sure service mechanics are fulfilling equipment manufacture recommendations.
· Driving to the job site to provide parts for heavy equipment, when necessary.
· Enforce all company policies and procedures related to shop employee’s conduct.
· Clean and maintain shop areas and ensure the proper care and storage of all tools.
· Leadership and organization skills are critical for this position.
· Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
· At least 5 years of prior experience as shop manager.
· Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required.

· Bending: Bending, stretching, and twisting are required during inspection of the equipment.
· Crawling/Kneeling: Occasionally crawling to check equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation and for general maintenance needs.
· Climbing: Ladder climbing is performed to enter/exit the equipment or machinery.
· Lifting/Carrying: Parts of heavy equipment/machinery, move heavy objects with minimum of 30-75 pounds.
· Sensory Demands: Suitable hearing, near and far sighted vision, and great spatial perception.
· Pushing/Pulling: Parts of the equipment during the inspection and/or maintenance.
