Shipping Lead / Warehouse Manager
Pay: $23 - $26 per hour DOE

ASAP Metal Fabricators is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shipping Lead / Warehouse Manager to join our growing team in Yakima, WA. This is a full-time position offering opportunities for long-term growth within a locally owned and operated small business.

This is a customer-facing position. The ideal candidate has experience managing parts and shipments in a manufacturing or warehouse setting and is eager to roll up their sleeves and take ownership of a critical part of the business operations; getting parts across the finish line, on time and undamaged
Typical Responsibilities
•Lead daily shipping and warehouse operations, coordinating with production, purchasing, and management teams.
•Manage warehouse inventory, pick and pack parts to fulfill customer orders
•Document shipments, create pack lists and enter data accurately into an ERP system
•Supervise and support shipping staff: delegate tasks, monitor performance, give feedback and train team members as needed.
•Oversee outbound logistics, including scheduling, route planning, and delivery coordination.
•Maintain shipping accuracy, including quality control, pack lists, documentation, and ERP data entry.
•Manage warehouse layout, raw material receiving, staging, and inventory control systems.
•Ensure safe and efficient loading/unloading of trucks and trailers.
•Drive trucks for local deliveries, to Seattle and back as needed for customer deliveries.
•Be flexible with schedule to accommodate the needs of shipping. Plan ahead and adjust as needed, and communicate plans with management.
•Oversee the operation and maintenance of forklifts and delivery vehicles.
•Identify process improvements and implement lean practices to improve workflow and reduce waste.
•Ensure the team follows safety procedures, cleanliness standards, and company policies.
•Maintain shipping supplies inventory and reorder as needed.
•Actively participate in management meetings and support company-wide planning initiatives.
•Maintain inventory of shipping materials as well as supplies
•Keep work areas clean and organized

Preferred Qualifications
•2+ years experience in a warehouse or shipping leadership role (manufacturing environment preferred).
•Strong understanding of logistics, inventory control, and ERP systems (experience with JobBOSS a plus).
•Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL a plus but not required).
•Forklift certification and experience operating delivery trucks.
•Ability to analyze shipping requirements and prioritize tasks effectively.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to lead by example.
•Organized, proactive, and reliable with excellent time management skills.

Preferred Experience
•2-4 years experience with shipping, receiving, warehouse operations
•2-4 years experience driving short-haul distances or greater
•Certified Forklift Operator
•CDL not required, but is a plus
•Experience maintaining trucks and forklifts is a plus
The business operates on a 40-hour work week. Overtime will occasionally be required. Standard hours of operation are:
•Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Due to the nature of this role, expect standard hours to shift as needed.
