What You'll Do:
•Inspect and manage records of all incoming shipments, including verifying items and quantities, receiving products into the system, proper labeling, and proper warehouse location.
•Serve as point of contact with purchasing for any discrepancies with receiving materials.
•Lead coordination of pick-up of raw materials for inbound delivery.
•Prepare all outgoing shipments to specifications, including identifying customer orders via open order reports, preparing for shipment, label verification, and proper labeling of pallets.
•Review or prepare paperwork for outgoing shipments including packing slips.
•Identify and select house carriers and manage the terms of agreements.
•Schedule outbound deliveries directly with house carriers or external vendors.
•Coordinate with sales when jobs are completed to ensure readiness for shipment.
•Operate lift truck or use hand jacks to load and unload materials, move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
•Monitor all steps of the operation to ensure Standard Quality and Operating Practices and guidelines are being followed.
•Lead and communicate changes and/or improvements to increase safety, productivity, and quality as needed.
•Coordinate material movement and equipment operation to meet customer specifications including quality and delivery requirements.
•Management Responsibilities: Coordinate, organize, and direct activities of delivery driver and forklift operator. Ensure direct reports are properly trained and provide ongoing performance management.
Skills & Qualifications:
•Hands-on knowledge of electrical or mechanical maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment.
•Ability to utilize effective techniques for developing stable, high performing manufacturing processes in metals manufacturing or structural steel fabrication.
•Adaptive and able to work with diverse teams and employees to accomplish tactical and strategic plans.
•Strong management skills to engage teams and promote an environment of respect, communication, and collaboration through two-way communication and encouraging new ideas.
•Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate information.
•Ability to engage with co-workers and promote an environment of respect, communication, and collaboration through two-way communication and encouraging new ideas.
•Ability to build trust, honor commitments, and treat all with respect. Use those skills to reach consensus, produce high quality work, and accomplish tasks by the deadlines.
•Proficient in MS Office Suite products and experienced with ERP or inventory software.
Experience/Education Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent required.
•Experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
•Experience operating a forklift preferred.
