Description:
SOLON Corporation is a leading provider of large commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic and battery energy storage system solutions in the Southwest United States. We are seeking an experienced Solar O&M and Service Manager to develop, manage, and expand our solar operations and maintenance program. This role requires a proactive individual with a background in solar and electrical operations and maintenance, as well as strong leadership, project management and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
•Work with company leadership to develop a comprehensive solar O&M and service program, establishing standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and best practices.
•Schedule and oversee field inspection work, maintenance tasks, and emergency repair services.
•Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for repair, replacement, and system improvement work.
•Collaborate with the business development team to deliver accurate O&M service pricing for prospective customers.
•Compile, analyze, and submit detailed inspection and service reports for owner review, ensuring clear communication of findings and recommendations.
•Implement and manage a software platform for tracking and managing all O&M and service operations.
•Utilize solar production monitoring systems to proactively monitor and respond to system issues and alerts within established timeframes.
•Lead contract negotiation, management, and renewal efforts for new and existing customers for O&M and service contracts.
•Effectively manage all large-scale system repair, replacement or improvement work, including procurement of materials and subcontractors, and coordination with site stakeholders and internal construction and quality control personnel.
•When required, perform field analysis and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to diagnose performance issues and recommend solutions.
•Manage inventory and procurement of essential parts, tools, equipment, and supplies for repair and maintenance activities.
•Lead team personnel management efforts, including interviewing, hiring and onboarding of service personnel.
•Provide training and guidance to field technicians and support staff, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality assurance protocols.
•Foster client relationships, providing exceptional customer service and proactive communication.
•Maintain comprehensive documentation and records of O&M activities, system performance, and maintenance histories.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work can be physically demanding, working frequently in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather and working conditions. May be subjected to extreme weather conditions (heat or cold) and terrain as well as physical circumstances involving extensive climbing, lifting and bending.
Requires weekday and occasional weekend work on assigned sites and performing work supporting those assigned sites. Assigned sites may also require travel, overnight or occasional extended stays. Sites typically are in the Southwestern United States.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
•Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading solar operations, maintenance, and service management.
•Strong technical expertise in photovoltaic systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting methods.
•Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and relevant software tools.
•Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices for solar installations and maintenance.
•Excellent organizational and project management skills, with proven ability to manage schedules and budgets.
•Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
•Ability to lead and mentor technical teams effectively.
•Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel intermittently to job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Prior experience as a solar system installer or electrician.
•Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
•Applicable NABCEP Certification.
•Prior experience in developing and scaling a solar O&M program.
•Experience with development and management of a solar O&M tracking and management software platform.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, such as lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working safely on rooftops and elevated platforms.
