We are seeking a hands-on and technically proficient Senior Treasury Analyst to support cash, liquidity and debt management. This is a critical operational role within the new standalone finance organization. This individual will work
collaboratively across teams to implement scalable processes, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure data integrity during the transition period.
- Maintain short- to mid-term cash forecasts for day-to-day liquidity needs.
- Optimize cash concentration and liquidity.
- Invest excess cash in short-term investments.
- Manage lines of credit and other funding sources.
- Support foreign exchange management by monitoring currency exposures and assisting with the execution of day-to-day FX trades for cross-border funding needs.
- Update and distribute the daily cash position report.
- Forecast and facilitate day-to-day revolver drawings, rollovers, and repayments.
- Process internal cash transactions and transfers and manage day-to-day funding requirements.
- Monitor AP payment and AR cash collection targets to ensure committed working capital targets are met.
- Coordinate Term loan rollovers.
- Ensure interest and swap payments are paid on time based on due dates.
- Assist in preparation of quarterly covenant calculations.
- Support refinancing initiatives.
- Support general banking relationships.
- Initiate and oversee bank account administration (open or close bank accounts, update signing authorities, and change permissions for online banking portals and access).
- Prepare the accounting for debt and interest payment transactions.
- Prepare various month-end schedules as back-up to the financial statements, including Debt & Interest proofs, Debt rolls, and Accrued Interest.
- Review bank reconciliations and schedules for outstanding performance bonds and outstanding letters of credit.
- External Relationship Building: Capable of maintaining strong relationships with external financial partners, specifically assisting with general banking relationships.
- Stakeholder Communication: Adept at coordinating with third-party advisors and managing ad hoc requests, quotes, and new arrangements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works effectively with internal teams and the GFL Treasury group to support back-office paperwork and bank account administration.
- Operational Excellence: Focuses strongly on executing agreed-upon outcomes and ensures that key tasks and deadlines (such as month-end support and reporting cycles) are met with precision.
- Detail Orientation: Demonstrates strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy when preparing schedules, analyzing cash flows, and organizing data.
- Team Collaboration: Helps to create a sense of team spirit, balances personal goals with those of the team, and fosters collaboration among team members.
- Adaptability: Capable of operating in a high-growth environment where finance functions are being built out and elevated.
- Education / Designation: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Working towards (or possessing) a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is highly preferred; working towards a CPA or CFA is a strong asset.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in corporate treasury, cash management, and debt administration.
- Operational Proficiency: Proven experience supporting daily liquidity needs, cash flow forecasting, and working capital analysis in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Technical Treasury Skills: Foundational understanding of debt compliance, covenant reporting, and derivative arrangements.
- Systems: Proficiency with ERP systems, advanced Excel (for modeling and schedules), online banking portals, and financial reporting tools. Experience with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) is an asset.
