Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
Responsibilities
•Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
•Prepare and analyze budgets to ensure financial goals are met.
•Conduct financial auditing to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, including SOX compliance.
•Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies and provide solutions for resolution.
•Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
•Utilize Quicken software for efficient tracking of financial transactions.
•Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting processes and financial planning initiatives.
•Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) accounting.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
•Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of budgeting and financial auditing processes.
•Familiarity with LIHTC regulations is a plus.
•Proficient in general ledger accounting, account analysis, and account reconciliation practices.
•Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
•Proficiency in accounting software such as Quicken; experience with other financial management tools is advantageous.
