Summary:
We are seeking a Senior High Voltage Technologist to lead and assist in all aspects of Power System services. .This position requires a deep passion for consistently achieving results at a high level, positively impacting coworkers and clients and preforming excellent work consistently and continuously. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Power System design, operation, commissioning and maintenance. Strong communication and technical writing skills is a must for this role.
- Advanced College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, alternatively a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
- Canadian or USA utility experience and familiarity with utility work protection.
- Solid understanding of site regulations regarding Health, safety & environment.
- Knowledge of electrical calculation and computer applications.
- Sound acquaintances with Canadian electrical codes, CSA, NEMA, NETA and IEEE standards.
- Sound knowledge in electrical site acceptance test for digital relays, HV & MV switchgear, motors, cables and MCC.
- Sound knowledge in design and installation of High voltage and medium voltage power system including cables, motors & it’s control, protective relays, transformers, circuit breakers, LV variable frequency drives and MV/LV motor control centers and hazardous area classification.
- Some knowledge of insulation science such as Partial Discharge and/or power factor considered an asset.
- Client relationship or account management experience.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and the sales team.
- Proven ability to create and implement innovative solutions.
- Assist with leading growth initiatives.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- A valid class G driver's license and experience with towing trailers. Higher class license and experience an asset.
- Clean background check to meet plant access requirements.
- Ability to travel to USA and international destinations and/or obtain needed work permits, 50% or higher travel ratio may be required for this role.
- Recent certifications in majority of health & safety training requirements, such as LOTO, confined space, working at heights a bonus.

- Lead all aspects of the project from technical proposal to execution and close out.
- Be responsible for managing multiple projects through coordinating the effective use of technical staff, equipment and other resources, ensuring jobs are completed to client standards, and enforcing Dexotech policies and procedures.
- Provide mentorship, support and learning opportunities to junior technical staff, as well as hands-on site training on technical procedures.
- Contribute expertise to projects involving power cables, switchgear, transformers, protection relaying, power system design and/or turnkey substations.
- Travel to job locations, globally to perform or lead work.
