B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Senior Financial Accountant, Edmonton, AB.

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Site Controller, this position will be based in the Edmonton, Canada.

Responsibilities

· Perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting;

· Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain accuracy and compliance;

· Create, maintain and improve monthly accounting working papers to support month-end activities;

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures;

· Oversee the preparation and submission of tax filings for GST and Fuel Tax;

· Maintain records of all fixed assets & projects including assets under construction, WIP balances, sustaining capital, acquisitions, transfers, disposals and systematic maintenance of assets within SAP;

· Ensure accurate valuation of fixed assets, considering factors such as depreciation, impairments, and revaluations;

· Investigate and resolve complex accounting-oriented duties with minimal direction; and

· Prepare schedules and analyses for audit, including coordination with internal and external auditors.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

· Five (5) years’ of professional accounting experience in natural resource or construction industry;

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance;

· A Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation;

· Working knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements for public companies in a SOX environment;

· Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, including advanced formulization, pivot tables and analytical tools; and

· Experience working in ERP systems, experience with SAP S/4 HANA considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the annual salary for the role is $135,000.00.
