Reata Engineering & Machine Works, Inc. We are seeking a Senior Buyer to lead purchasing and supplier management for our precision CNC machining operation in Englewood, Colorado. This is a hands-on role responsible for all procurement activities, including raw materials, outside processing, subcontract machining, and vendor performance management. The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring materials are sourced competitively, delivered on time, and aligned with our aerospace, medical, and defense manufacturing programs.
This position works closely with engineering, production, quality, and finance to support production schedules, maintain supplier performance, and protect company margins.

- Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, outside processing, and subcontract services
- Source aluminum, stainless steel, specialty alloys, and machined components
- Ensure POs contain correct revisions, certifications, and compliance requirements
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships
- Qualify and onboard new vendors
- Maintain the Approved Supplier List
- Develop and manage supplier performance scorecards
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms
- Perform competitive quote comparisons
- Identify cost reduction opportunities
- Monitor open purchase orders and vendor delivery commitments
- Expedite critical materials supporting production schedules
- Resolve supply chain shortages and delivery issues
- Review and approve purchasing activity across departments
- Ensure supplier selections and pricing align with company standards
- Maintain vendor and pricing data in ERP
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, and ITAR requirements
- Reviewing the production schedule and upcoming material requirements
- Issuing purchase orders and confirming vendor acknowledgements
- Following up with vendors on delivery commitments
- Expediting critical materials or outside processing
- Working with engineering and production to resolve shortages
- Evaluating supplier quotes for upcoming jobs
- Updating ERP with delivery dates and supplier communications- 5+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing
- Strong ERP / MRP purchasing experience
- Experience sourcing raw materials and outside processing vendors
- Ability to negotiate pricing and supplier terms
- Strong Excel and cost analysis skills
- Ability to read engineering drawings and material specifications
- Excellent communication and vendor relationship management skills
- Aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing
- AS9100 or ISO manufacturing environments
- Precision machining or metal manufacturing
- Supply chain or purchasing certifications
