The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will develop processes for safely producing high quality, cost-effective products. This position plays an important role in maintaining Federal Tool’s competitive edge, improving our ability to serve customers in diverse fields such as commercial and industrial power generation, commercial and residential food service, outdoor power equipment, indoor and outdoor LED lighting, medical applications, communication equipment, and vehicle lighting and steering, among others.

1. Collaborate with engineers to improve all aspects of manufacturing to promote safety, improve quality, and reduce costs.
2. Active participant in process capability from inception to product development.
3. Perform process analysis through documentation, evaluation, new opportunity for improvement and ends with implementing a revised process.
4. Develop processes simulation and controls to ensure safe and effective production of all products.
5. Capable of working independently and part of a self-managed team as part of VA/VE discussions on projects of limited complexity, and part of a multidisciplinary team for projects of greater complexity.
6. Implement prevention costs through designs, redesigns, or enhance fixture and tooling for various pieces of fabrication and stamping equipment using Poke-Yoke ideals and methods.
7. Identifies and assesses various problems through cause-and-effect, pareto and researches and recommends solutions and leads projects to completion.
8. Benchmarking of best practices in metal fabrication and stamping, as well as trends and developments in technology and equipment; this knowledge applies to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar degree is required.
- Minimum of five years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience in CAD systems (SolidWorks preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Instinctively think critically regarding processes to determine best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

The employee works in a manufacturing environment and is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high places. He/she is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
