POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Benefits Administrator & HRIS administers and oversees benefit programs and HR systems that support the company’s long-term objectives. This role works closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of benefits services, including health, wellness, financial, and leave programs. The Senior Benefits Administrator & HRIS collaborates with the HR team to create process and procedure efficiencies for continuous improvement and to deliver value to the organization. Under limited supervision, this position reports to the Vice President – Human Resources in the Denver office.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefit Administration
•Design, implement, and manage employee benefit programs, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and leave policies.
•Compare our benefits with other companies by analyzing their plans and surveys. Participate in industry surveys and make recommendations based on the results.
•Evaluate the utilization and costs of benefits and identify and recommend improvements.
•Manage the annual benefits renewal process, including benchmarking, analysis, and open enrollment.
•Work with brokers, financial advisors, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators on audits, renewals, and RFPs.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA) and submit required government reports (e.g., ACA filing, 401(k) audits, 5500s).
•Communicate and support employees regarding benefits offerings, inquiries, and claim issues.
•Manage all leaves of absence, including FMLA, Colorado Paid Family Leave, STD, Workers' Compensation, ADA, and other company leaves, ensuring compliance with laws. Provide guidance to employees and managers on benefits and leave procedures.
HRIS
•Manage and update HR system platforms, including annual reviews of HRIS/Payroll applications to meet business needs and save costs.
•Ensure data accuracy and collection, making sure carrier file feeds work properly, including EEO-1 data collection.
•Check employee information in the HRIS/Payroll system, including onboarding, changes, and terminations.
•Serve as an expert in HRIS/Payroll applications; provide guidance and training on HRIS systems to users and team members.
•Improve HR systems by adding new features for continuous improvement.
•Create HR analytics and reports for various departments.
•Support HR leadership with data analysis and reporting to help with decision-making.
HR Support
•Work closely with the payroll department on employee benefits and HR systems efficiencies.
•Answer employee HR questions.
•Give strategic HR advice to leaders and employees to support business goals.
•Create and explain HR policies and procedures; ensure they are applied consistently and comply with regulations.
•Help with compensation administration and annual compensation surveys.
•Support the HR team in achieving department goals and priorities.
•Maintain respectful and productive relationships within and across all work groups, ensuring effective collaboration.
•Foster a work environment that reflects the company’s Purpose, Vision, and Core Values.
OTHER DUTIES
•Help with onboarding and offboarding, including new hire orientation.
•Add and update content on the Human Resources page of the company’s Intranet site and LinkedIn.
•Oversee daily HR administrative tasks, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
•Assist with creating annual Total Rewards Statements.
•Stay updated on legal regulations, industry trends, and best practices; suggest improvements to ensure compliance with federal and state laws like COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA.
•Travel to field offices to conduct HR meetings for employees, as needed.
•Perform other duties and projects as assigned to support the department and company.

•Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications, data query tools, and internet search tools.
•Strong collaborator, effective in a multidisciplinary team environment.
•Self-starter, driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced and diverse environment with varying degrees of direction.
•Effectively manage multiple concurrent projects, timelines, and stakeholders.
•Comfortable in a small-company environment in a very hands-on role.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to converse effectively with all levels of the company, customers, and business associates.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or equivalent relevant work experience.
•7+ years Human Resources experience, with an emphasis in Benefits and HRIS
•Experience developing and implementing employee benefit programs and human resources information systems.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

•Previous experience in Oil and Gas Exploration & Production
•Knowledge of the external working environment and the oil and gas industry
•Compensation administration experience
