Brief Description
Consolidated Asset Management Services (“CAMS”) is seeking to hire a Senior Accounting Associate. This position requires a wide variety of duties and candidates must be willing to “roll their sleeves up”. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of accounting experience. Power generation accounting experience is a plus.
CAMS provides quality, competitively priced project, asset management, commercial and operations services to the power generation, E&P, and midstream sectors of the energy industry.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
•Responsible for cash management and daily accounting for assigned projects, including communication with the client, asset manager, lenders, bank representatives, and vendors.
•Responsible for performing monthly accounting closing process.
•Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide to the client, lenders, and other third parties that require financial reporting deliverables.
•Assist in preparation of monthly management reports for presentation to the client.
•Analyze and review operations and maintenance expenditures incurred by the assigned projects monthly.
•Perform monthly budget to actual analysis.
•Assist in preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts.
•Prepare comprehensive work papers for outside auditors.
•Prepare supporting schedules for outside tax consultants.
•Support Asset Manager with financial models, contract compliance, and day to day operations.
•Maintain a strong system of internal accounting controls.
•Responsible for ad-hoc requests from client as needed.
Requirements
•Undergraduate degree in accounting with at least three years of financial audit or accounting experience.
•Experience in the power generation industry is a plus.
•Strong analytical skills to analyze financial and operational information.
•Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; must be a self-starter and take the initiative in completing assignments.
•Solid knowledge and experience with GAAP accounting and financial reporting.
•Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•Customer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner.
•Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work with internal and external resources.
•Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
Summary
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
