Job Description

St. Croix Energy Solutions Inc. (SCES) is seeking an individual to assist in home performance testing of homes, improve performance of homes, and perform post-improvement inspections on homes that have been improved. The Energy Consultant Assistant will conduct/assist building diagnostics on residential homes, develop reports, air sealing, insulation, and various other tasks related to the home performance field.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

· Conducting/Observing blower door testing

· Assisting/Observing combustion safety test

· Performing/Observing ventilation testing

· Assisting/Observing duct leakage testing

· Furnace and water heater efficiency testing

· Preparing home performance reports, recommendations, & work scopes

· Air sealing and insulation of homes (as needed)

· Deliver materials for projects (as needed)

Qualifications

· Excellent time-management and organizational skills

· Basic knowledge and experience with residential building science, residential energy efficiency and residential building construction and capacity to learn more

· Physical ability to work on ladders and enter attics, basements and other confined areas of a home

· Basic computer and keyboard competency and familiarity with MS Word & MS Excel

· Valid driver’s license and good driving record required

Requirements

· Must be available to start this summer

· Ideally one or more years of residential construction or energy auditing experience OR 2yr degree in a related field

· After work start and training, must be able to pass BPI Building Analyst certification test

Working Hours & Location

This is a part-time/full-time position that may require evening and weekend hours, but mostly during typical business hours. Hours will be about 10-20 hrs per week during the summer months and 25-40 hours during fall & winter.

SCES is based out of Hudson, WI and provides services to the eastern metro area and western WI. Daily travel to Hudson and surrounding area will be required. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.

SCES will start interviewing immediately.

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
