Downhole Chemical Solutions is looking for a SCADA Technician to play a key role in the Marshall, TX facility responsible for the maintenance, standardization, and upgrade efforts of its entire fleet of oil and gas equipment. This role is responsible for the installation and maintenance of control systems, instrumentation, and equipment used for chemical delivery and injection during completions operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
•Panel building, wire routing/organization, instrumentation install and setup
•Calibrating and troubleshooting sensors, flow meters, and level monitoring systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
•Maintaining and updating wiring diagrams and on-unit documentation to ensure standardization
•Participating in commissioning and startup of new component installations/retrofitting across the entire fleet
•Support the maintenance, standardization, and upgrade (MSU) efforts on all major equipment;
Equipment to include, but not limited to, transmitters, flowmeters, VFDs, motor drives, data communications, PLCs, HMIs, pumps, and motors
Organizational Structure
•Will report directly to the organization’s Maintenance Coordinator, but will work closely with other parts of the organization including engineering, field support, and operations.
•Schedule: M-F, 50-60 hours per week. Potential for late night and/or weekend work as determined by activity levels of the company
•Location: The SCADA technician will work out of the 110 Carlile Facility (MSU Shop) in Marshall, TX, though occasional travel may be required to the field or other operating facilities in TX or LA -
Technician must provide their own reliable means of transportation and housing in the Marshall area
Requirements
•Associate degree or technical training in Instrumentation, Electrical Technology, Automation, or related field
•Minimum of 1-2 years SCADA or industrial instrumentation experience, preferably in chemical injection, water treatment, or oilfield services
•Experience with PLC and HMI systems
•Experience with 120 – 480VAC power, 12 – 24 VDC power, 4-20 mA signaling
•Self-motivation; DCS promotes a collaborative, self-starting environment
Desired skills
•Excellent time management
•Working knowledge of CAD drawings for creating/updating wiring diagrams
•Hands-on experience with instrumentation brands such as Yokogawa, VEGA, ABB, Red Lion HMI, IDEC PLC, TURCK, Bulgin, Meltric, and others
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in both shop and field environments
•Proficient with laptops, tablets, and remote configuration tools
•Strong communication and team coordination skills
•Creative mindset, innovative tendencies, and a willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing industry
•Working knowledge of TCP Modbus, RS-485/232, TCP/OPC UA and analog communication protocols is a plus
