Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven SCADA Senior Engineer to lead and support the design, integration, testing, and commissioning of SCADA systems for electrical power infrastructure. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering, utility operations, and automation systems, along with a passion for delivering innovative and high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead the design, configuration, and integration of SCADA and automation systems for substations, switchgear, and critical power assets.
•Develop and implement HMI screens, I/RTU/PLC logic, and communication protocols such as DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850.
•Collaborate with internal project teams, vendors, and clients to ensure functional, secure, and compliant SCADA system performance.
•Conduct field testing, system troubleshooting, and on-site commissioning of SCADA infrastructure.
•Review and generate technical documentation including control schematics, network architectures, and panel layouts.
•Prepare detailed reports such as functional specifications, O&M manuals, and network diagrams.
•Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and field personnel.
•Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations including NETA, IEEE, NERC CIP, and client-specific protocols.
•Contribute to business development efforts through proposal input, system architecture planning, and client presentations.
•Perform additional duties as assigned in support of project or organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related technical field.
•Minimum of 5 years of SCADA/Automation engineering experience, ideally within the utility or industrial power sectors.
•Deep understanding of SCADA protocols, substation automation, and protective relay systems.
•Hands-on experience with platforms from SEL (Schweitzer), GE, Siemens, ABB, or similar.
•Proficient in configuring and supporting SCADA software from multiple vendors.
•Familiarity with OT cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance in critical infrastructure environments.
•Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.
•Experience working with renewable energy systems, microgrids, or energy storage integration.
•Professional certifications or continuing education in SCADA, NERC CIP, or system security.
