Job Objective:
Assists with the technical work in the administration, maintenance, and operation of SCADA, computerized distributed control, telemetry input, and computer systems for field operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
•Working knowledge of SCADA architecture design including control, measurement and safety systems for oil and gas production and pipeline facilities.
•Conduct feasibility studies, conduct site surveys and develop recommendations and cost estimates for the installation of new SCADA systems or for the upgrade of existing systems.
•Keep abreast of new SCADA related developments and technology in areas such as equipment, software, governmental regulations, advanced business applications, alternate site business recovery and communications.
•Program and troubleshoot ladder logic and function block PLC programming on platforms including Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley SLC and Control Logix, GE Fanuc, Square D and Modicon.
•Install and calibrate field instrumentation including devices that measure temperature, pressure and flow.
•Install and troubleshoot multiple PLCRTUEFM radio, cellular, satellite and web based telemetry systems.
•Set up and maintain computer and controller networks using Ethernet, Profibus, Device Net and Control Net.
•Read, understand and troubleshoot electrical prints and diagrams.
•Perform field wiring to instrumentation and control panels.
•Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with Siemens, Allen-Bradley and Danfoss Soft Starters and Variable Frequency Drives. Document SCADA systems per established procedures.
•Manage Internal and External resources to optimize field work processes, field process control and safety systems.
•Work with field SCADA Technicians to troubleshoot and diagnose SCADA related problems.
•Mentor and help train junior level SCADA Engineers through training and review of their work plans and system installs.
•Coordinate and participate in the design, development and administration of standards and documentation for all SCADA configuration databases, applications programming and core SCADA functions.
•Enforce adherence to corporate SCADA standards.
•Design, Program, and Troubleshoot HMI applications to include graphical design, scripting, and database queries on platforms including WonderWare Intouch, WonderWare Archestra, and/or Schnider Electric ClearScada.

•Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
•Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
•Three (3) to ten (10) years of SCADA or automation experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry, with a special emphasis in HMI development.
•Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the company.
•Strong ability in diagnosing and solving SCADA related problems while maintaining patience, professionalism, and courtesy.
•Understanding of SCADA system setup and maintenance with regard to administration, programming, database administration, telemetry, and RTU input management understanding of the technology related to SCADA design and maintenance of a SCADA system.
•Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
•Solid understanding of desktop computers, printers, and general office applications.
•Good written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex computer/information systems information into an organized and presentable manner.
•Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
•Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
Required: WonderWare family of applications
Preferred: Microsoft Office, DirectSoft.
Education Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in information technology, electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field or minimum of 10 years industry experience in a SCADA related position.
