ABOUT OUR OPERATION

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 is anticipated to be the last year of the Meadowbank mine production, and we are now transitioning to processing ore from the satellite deposit Amaruq. The mining, processing and infrastructure at the Meadowbank mine site and the mining and infrastructure at the Amaruq site are together referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Surveyor Leader, the Surveyor is part of the Engineering Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. The Surveyor Helper will execute the following tasks:

- Assist the Surveyor during the daily tasks;

- Support both the surface (open pit) and underground survey teams;

- Layout drill patterns by providing the drill cut and hole number on a stake;

- Layout packets with Geology group by spotting the different vertices to contour packets;

- Acquire expertise in the various survey tasks to develop job anticipation and autonomy;

- Maintain the work environment safe and clean;

- Ensure equipment is prepared for the workday and in working order: Tools and pickup inspections including fueling, Pickets & paint cans for the day’s work, GPS, batteries, etc.

- Promote Health and Safety by participating in the monthly departmental H&S meeting;

- Any other duties required by the Supervisor.
