Safety Technician (Entry Level Safety Person)
Reports to: Regional Safety Manager

Spartan Companies, LLC desires to maintain a strong and effective safety culture. At a minimum it is expected that each employee will understand and effectively utilize Stop Work Authority, comply with all applicable safety rules, regulations and policies, report all incidents (no matter how minor) immediately, participate in Job Safety Analysis discussions, submit weekly safety observations and express gratitude when others prevent you from performing unsafe behaviors or work activities.
Description
Regional Safety Manager Support
One of the most important tasks of a Safety Technician is to assist the Regional Safety Manager in all job functions laid out by the Regional Safety Manager. Anything the Regional Safety Manager requests should take priority over your day to day tasks outlined below.
As a Safety Technician, you are also responsible to report on job interface between the field. You should always have a good understanding of projects and needs of the field.
The Safety Technician helps support the safety and health activities of Spartan Companies, through proactive involvement in the enforcement and implementation of safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe conditions on multiple job locations.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to these essential tasks and are subject to change by the employer as needs arise in the company.
•Provide daily field and technical safety support to assigned projects
•Bottle Cataloging and testing
•Provide daily support and instruct management and HSE teams to achieve a high level of HSE capabilities resulting in an integrated approach to safe operations, as well as implementation of compliance processes in alignment with Spartan’s HSE standards and local/federal rules and regulations
•Develop, implement, and support health and safety strategies, systems, policies, and procedures
•Conduct periodic audits of potentially hazardous work areas, process operations, work practices, and procedures
•Participate and provide safe and continuous leadership in all operational activities
•Support and facilitate employee involvement in safety and health processes
•Facilitate and/or participate in incident investigations and root causes. Ensure completion of investigation of severe incidents and injuries and cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for the organization’s use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations as needed
•Provide continuous oversight for employee work activities including safety and health training, qualification and selection, audits, and program enhancements
•Support and organize auditing mechanisms towards continued improvement around HSE policies and "critical" safety procedures including but not limited to Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, Scaffolding and Hazard Communication
•Support the local management and HSE teams in delivering a continual improvement in the HSE culture at the workplace
•Promote daily Health, Safety and Environmental awareness and responsibility through safety meetings, communications, onsite visits, and training programs
•Represent the organization in customer, community or industry safety groups and programs
•Work closely with production, subcontractors, and other service providers to ensure safe collaborative working conditions
Qualifications
· Effective organization and planning skills.
· Ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.

•Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Demonstrated ability to use standard office software programs, Microsoft suite, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and audiovisual presentations.
