Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Safety Specialist will develop and implement safety programs, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with safety regulations to create a safe work environment for all team members.

General Responsibilities

•

Support the execution of safety audits across all divisions.

•

Assist with risk identification, incident reporting, and investigations.

•

Perform safety inspections and environmental assessments.

•

Maintain documentation and perform general administrative duties.

•

Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and project-related regulations.

•

Participate in accident and incident investigations and assist with reporting.

•

Support safety training programs and initiatives.

•

Enforce adherence to federal, state, corporate, and site-specific safety protocols.

•

Identify issues and suggest timely solutions.

•

Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent tasks.

•

Conduct monthly and quarterly inspections of safety tools and equipment.

•

Effectively communicate safety topics to large groups.

•

Foster a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Required Education & Experience

•

At least 10 years of experience in the electric utility sector specifically in Underground Electrical Distribution (URD) and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).

•

Minimum of 3 years in a safety-related role within the electric industry preferred, or a relevant combination of education and field experience in a construction environment.

•

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

•

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

•

OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications.

•

In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards.

•

Willingness to travel. Position will be based out of Fort Worth but will require travel to projects in other states

•

Possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

•

OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 certifications.

•

Degree in Risk Management or professional safety certification (e.g., CSP, CHST) preferred.

•

Certified Instructor/Trainer credentials
