Job Overview:
The Safety Supervisor will play a critical role in developing, coordinating, and implementing occupational health policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of employees throughout the organization. The role will focus on driving improved safety outcomes, managing a geographically dispersed team of field safety coordinators, and ensuring the effective implementation of safety programs, policies, and processes. This is a hands-on field leadership position with direct responsibility for improving safety results across the organization.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Partner with leadership teams and field safety coordinators to improve safety results through employee training, relationship-building, and reinforcing the organization's safety culture.
•Continuously monitor safety KPIs, evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives, and implement changes to improve safety performance and achieve annual goals.
•Develop and enhance the safety skills and competencies of field safety coordinators through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
•Develop and lead monthly safety meetings to operations personnel in conjunction with field safety coordinators.
•Deliver safety training programs to operations personnel in compliance with required safety standards.
•Lead HSE compliance audits and field inspections; prepare audit reports and recommend corrective actions for identified hazards.
•Provide on-site findings and immediate abatement actions with recommendations for additional corrective measures.
•Support the VP of Safety in incident investigations and after-action reviews.
•Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.
•Ensure accurate OSHA recordkeeping and reporting and provide necessary documentation for audits and reporting.
•Stop operations and activities when conditions pose a potential risk to employees or equipment.
•Identify opportunities for reducing workplace injuries, accidents, and health issues.
•Review, investigate, and report accidents and incidents to management, with recommended corrective actions.
•Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and PHMSA regulations.
•Manage the submission of customer safety questionnaires, company safety statistics, and OSHA documentation.
•Administer and manage ISN, Veriforce, and DISA programs, including monthly random pools and pre-employment screenings.
•Oversee the Samba Safety process and Berkley ERS System.
•Conduct new hire orientation.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
•Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and OSHA standards.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with a focus on operational support and employee development.
•Strong understanding of health and safety management practices, as well as state and federal regulatory compliance requirements.
•Proven ability to lead by influence and motivate teams to drive continuous safety improvement.
•Excellent leadership, team building, and relationship-building skills.
•Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
•Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
•Experience with ISN, Veriforce, and DISA is preferred.
•Ability to legally work in the U.S.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred.
•Minimum of 5 years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial or operational environment.
Working Conditions:
•The Safety Supervisor will spend significant time in field operating environments, including travel to various job sites (approximately 40% of the time).
•Company truck will be provided.
•Job sites may include both indoor and outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.
•The role may involve exposure to hazardous environments with heavy machinery and equipment, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
•The ability to lift up to 25 pounds is required.
•This position involves significant interaction with both company and external personnel, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills.
