Job Overview
The Field Safety Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing safety operations on job sites, ensuring that all activities comply with safety standards and regulations. This role will focus on proactive safety management, hazard identification, incident prevention, and fostering a strong safety culture across the field teams. The Field Safety Supervisor will work directly with site foremen, crew members, and project managers to ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on active job sites to ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA regulations.
•Lead daily safety briefings and toolbox talks to educate and remind crews about safe work practices.
•Monitor safety performance and provide coaching to field personnel to ensure safety procedures are followed.
•Ensure all workers have the proper safety equipment and PPE for their tasks, and conduct regular equipment inspections.
•Investigate accidents and near-misses, documenting incidents, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
•Work with supervisors to ensure that any corrective actions identified from safety audits or incident investigations are implemented.
•Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and risk assessments for new projects.
•Maintain records of safety training, certifications, and other compliance documentation.
•Assist with employee safety training and ensure that all field staff are properly trained in safety procedures.
•Stay up-to-date on industry safety standards and regulations, ensuring the company is compliant with OSHA, ANSI, and other regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
•High School Diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field is preferred.
•3+ years of experience in field safety management, preferably in construction or utility work.
•In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and risk management practices.
•First Aid/CPR certification required.
•OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred.
•Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive safety culture across teams.
•Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with safety management software is a plus.
•Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
•Ability to conduct safety inspections and walk job sites.
•Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of equipment and materials.
•Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,985.00 - $70,728.00 per year
