Superheat is hiring a West Coast Safety Manager to lead our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs across operations in the Western United States. Based out of our Huntington Beach, CA office, you will be instrumental in building and sustaining a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and working closely with field operations to implement best-in-class safety practices.
- Enforce Superheat’s internal safety policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine safety inspections at job sites and facilities; recommend and implement corrective measures.
- Manage internal and external safety audits and resolve findings in a timely manner.
- Conduct safety orientations and lead ongoing safety training initiatives.
- Ensure timely completion of all required safety certifications and refreshers for regional personnel.
- Assist with the development and delivery of region-wide safety training programs.
- Lead investigations of incidents and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and track follow-ups.
- Analyze safety trends and performance metrics; implement corrective strategies for continuous improvement.
- Administer and align customer-specific safety programs with Superheat’s standards.
- Support bid preparation by reviewing client safety requirements and ensuring alignment.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and safety organizations, in collaboration with the Executive Director of Workforce Management & Safety.
- Monitor evolving federal and state OH&S regulations; recommend and update policies as needed.
- Provide leadership and consultation on region-specific safety challenges.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a safety role within construction, power generation, nuclear, or other high-risk environments.
- Previous field safety supervision experience required.
- Safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, CRSP) preferred.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related field is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 40%.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain necessary site access credentials.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and state-specific safety regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and build relationships with field personnel.
