Ballymore Safety Products is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Manager to lead and uphold consistent safety practices across our manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, as well as support for Repair Technicians working on equipment in the field. This role ensures alignment in safety programs, compliance with regulatory requirements, and a strong safety culture across both plant and field environments. The Safety Manager will oversee training, conduct evaluations and audits, support EHS initiatives, and ensure continuous improvement and reporting and will work onsite at either our Pittsburgh (15238) or Coatesville (19320) plant location(s) as their home base.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Plant Safety Oversight
•Maintain a regular travel cadence to each manufacturing plant based on operational needs and safety evaluations.
•Conduct safety audits and inspections across all sites to ensure compliance and proactively address hazards.
•Ensure alignment within each facility in relation to safety practices and procedures.
Field Service Safety Support
•Support safety practices and training for field technicians working on a variety of light industrial equipment at customer sites nationwide.
•Develop and maintain field-specific safety protocols related to equipment servicing, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, PPE usage, and situational hazard awareness.
•Collaborate with DOC Services leadership to investigate incidents, ensure proper documentation, and implement corrective actions in the field.
•Ensure technicians are trained and equipped to assess and manage risks in dynamic customer site environments.
Safety Program Management
•Implement and maintain standardized safety programs and policies across all Ballymore facilities.
•Conduct regular training on key safety areas including LOTO, welding safety, hearing conservation, eye protection, and environmental awareness.
•Promote a safety-first culture through ongoing communication and reinforcement.
Incident Reduction & Response
•Lead incident investigations for both plant and field operations; identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
•Analyze trends to proactively reduce incidents and foster a zero-incident mindset across the organization.
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Support & Reporting
•Lead or contribute to EHS compliance efforts and regulatory readiness.
•Prepare and present monthly EHS progress reports to the COO.
•Stay informed on OSHA and local safety regulations impacting both plant and field service work.
Machine & Facility Safety
•Evaluate and improve machine safety procedures and safeguards within all manufacturing sites.
•Review and support facility safety improvements, including lighting, ventilation, ergonomics, and hazard communication.
•Ensure that maintenance records are maintained and maintenance on machines is documented for safety compliance.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
•5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing and/or field service environment required; multi-site experience strongly preferred
•Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards and field-specific safety risks
•Strong leadership, communication, and training skills
•Willingness and ability to travel regularly (up to 50%) to Ballymore facilities and DOC Services field locations
•CSP or other relevant safety certifications preferred
