Summary

The Right-of-Way Representative Jr completes an on-the-job training program in order to provide support to the northern Arizona APS Right of Way Representative team.


The training focuses on the following:

- Performing basic research to determine land ownership

- Requesting and reviewing land survey results

- Drafting and recording of easements

- Applying for permits to allow installation of facilities in municipal rights of ways

- Works alongside a Right of Way Representative Senior to learn the various disciplines of the right-of-way project lifecycle


Minimum Requirements

High school diploma/GED plus one year of experience in customer-related/customer-facing positions; experience with Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams; experience working with Adobe Pro; Valid AZ drivers license.



Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:

- Experience working in the Utility industry.

- Proficient in math, including algebra and trigonometry.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Ability to understand and interpret basic legal descriptions.

- Customer service experience working in a fast-paced environment.

- Experience using project management software, preferably Maximo.

- Arizona Notary Public.


Major Accountabilities

- Become proficient in performing basic property research for ownership and boundary information.

- Assists Right of Way Representatives in northern state region with construction projects by researching existing easements.

- Become proficient in drafting new easements.

- Prepares and processes check requests and credit card payments for municipality permit fees and for customer easements.

- Applies for all necessary permits from municipalities and other utilities.

- Tracks permits to guarantee their validity throughout the life of the project.

- Updates Maximo to reflect permit and easement requirements and activity.

- Responds to requests from APS personnel in the field via the ROW hotline by providing quick research about existing easements to help determine the path of line extensions.

- Assist customers participating in docu-sign pilot project with easement signatures utilizing an Arizona e-notary seal.

Hybrid:Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person).

In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location.

- Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees).

- Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic set up.

- Role types are subject to change based on business need.
