Rigger and Crane Operator

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Rigger and Crane Operator to join our team. This role involves operating 130 ton rough terrain crane, forklifts (5-35K), scissor lifts and 50 ton overhead crane. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction environments, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to safely manage lifting operations. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring precision, expertise, and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

- Operate 130 ton rough terrain crane, forklifts (5-35K), scissor lifts and 50 ton overhead crane loading activities.

- Perform rigging operations for lifting and moving heavy materials, ensuring proper load securement and safety compliance.

- Manage and organize equipment yard.

- Assist with the setup and disassembly of lifting gear and ensure all equipment is maintained in optimal condition.

- Conduct safety inspections of machinery before use and adhere to all safety protocols during operations.

- Coordinate with truck drivers to plan lifting sequences and ensure efficient workflow.

- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and safety checks.

Qualifications

- Proven experience working on construction sites with heavy equipment operation.

- Mechanical knowledge related to cranes, forklifts, and skid steer.

- Familiarity with construction safety standards and rigging procedures.

- Ability to operate machinery and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.

- Strong understanding of rigging processes involving cranes or similar equipment is a plus.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks in outdoor idustrial settings. This role is vital for ensuring the safe handling of materials and smooth progress of projects through expert crane operation and rigging skills. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to safety, reliability in equipment handling, and a solid background in crane operation.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
