Position Summary
As a Purchasing Agent, you’ll play a key role in our supply chain—especially on the retail side—ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of merchandise and materials. You'll work closely with internal teams and external vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels and meet our customers’ unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
•Retail Purchasing: Manage procurement for our retail division, including product sourcing, vendor selection, and price negotiation.
•Work closely with store managers, e-commerce, and product development teams to align purchasing with sales trends and customer demand.
•Maintain appropriate inventory levels across multiple locations, using forecasting tools and reports.
•Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
•Track purchase orders, shipping status, and delivery timelines to ensure timely fulfillment.
•Monitor supplier performance and quality; address discrepancies or issues as needed.
•Keep accurate, up-to-date records of purchasing activity and vendor contracts.
•Stay informed about market trends, new products, and changes in customer preferences—especially in the Catholic retail space.
Qualifications
*3+ years of purchasing experience, with a strong emphasis on retail purchasing
•Familiarity with supply chain management and inventory planning
•Proficient in purchasing and inventory software (e.g., ERP systems, Excel)
•Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
•Strong communication and negotiation abilities
•Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
•Familiarity with Catholic liturgy, traditions, or products is helpful for success in this role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
