Experienced Commercial Solar Installer - Mechanical

Mountain View Solar has an immediate opening for an experienced solar installer on our commercial mechanical team. Candidates must have a technical understanding of solar mounting systems.

mtvSolar is the region’s longest running solar and battery storage company with unmatched workmanship and attention to detail. Our installations run the full spectrum, with residential, commercial, and municipal work forming the majority of our installations. Our primary service area is the WV panhandle, Western MD, PA and Northern VA with occasional work outside the area.

Candidates will have reliable transportation to mtvSolar HQ in Berkeley Springs, WV. Company truck, paid travel and per diem are provided. Specialized tools are provided. On-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities:

- Assemble and Install Solar Systems: Build solar module frames, panels, and support structures following industry standards and ensuring efficient system operation.

- Site Assessment and Preparation: Identify optimal locations for solar panel placement, considering factors like electrical connections, safety, and environmental impact.

- Safety and Maintenance: Recognize and address potential electrical and environmental hazards associated with solar installations. Perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning panels, checking weather seals, and maintaining system components.

- Equipment Management: Maintain company vehicles and trailers, ensuring cleanliness and organization. Keep tools and equipment well-stocked and in good working condition.

Qualifications:

- Valid driver's license and ability to pass DOT screening.

- Mandatory installation experience.

- Excellent navigation skills using Google Earth, maps, and GPS.

- OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred.

- Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift at least 50 lbs.

- Ability to understand and work with systems up to 1500vdc.

- Strong ability to understand and interpret technical manuals.

- Excellent written communication skills for daily safety reports and progress updates.

- Professional appearance and demeanor.

Compensation:

Pay is negotiable depending on experience. Starting range is $22-$28

Mountain View Solar (mtvSolar) is an MBE/DBE certified small business enterprise serving the mid-Atlantic region from our headquarters in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
