Job Description
Maintains the office filing system to include physical and electronic files, and assists employees in the location and filing of customer correspondence. Acts as a backup to the Office related departments as needed in providing superior quality customer service to customer by directing and taking calls regarding customer issues and providing clerical support. Participates in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs. Complies with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements
: A self-starting individual who possesses a High School Diploma or GED. Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills are essential. Skills should include typing, PC, 10-key calculator, experience with a multi-line console. Good problem-solving skills and solid decision making, effective communication, prioritization and organization of work activities. Must be able to lift items up to 20 lbs. Mental concentration is necessary for handling frequent interruptions and working in a fast-paced environment. Must be bilingual in both English and Spanish. Must be able to work hours as scheduled Monday through Friday, and occasional weekends.

The North Alamo Water Supply Corporation is a legally chartered corporation operating under the laws of the State of Texas for the purpose of furnishing a potable water and wastewater utility service for rural residents of eastern Hidalgo County, Willacy County, and northwestern Cameron County as described in Certificates of Convenience and Necessity Nos. 10553 and 20645 (CCN). The Corporation’s CCN boundary encompasses 973 square miles and either surrounds or is adjacent to 16 cities and/or communities that operate public water systems.
The system presently serves more than 56,000 meter connections, which include households, numerous businesses, 24 schools, and six other Public Water Systems, from six surface water treatment plants and one reverse osmosis treatment plant. The 44,900 meter connections represent an estimated population of nearly 180,000. The surface water treatment plants treat surface water conveyed by six irrigation districts. The original source of the raw water is the Rio Grande River. The reverse osmosis treatment plant treats brackish groundwater. Of these meter connections, approximately 2,000 are also served by the corporation’s wastewater system.
