Position Summary

The Quality Technician is a hands-on, empowered role responsible for ensuring product quality throughout the production process. This position works side-by-side with operators to conduct audits, spot checks, and training, while also acting independently with the authority to stop production or quarantine product when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform spot checks, audits, and real-time coaching with operators.

· Act as an independent quality presence on the floor, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

· Train operators on inspection techniques, machine capabilities, and common failure modes.

· Prepare and submit Customer PPAP’s.

· Review and approve Supplier PPAP’s.

· Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.

· Utilize inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gages, vision systems, and CMMs.

· Conduct basic calibration and verification of inspection equipment.

· Document audit results, inspection records, CARs, calibration logs, and training records.

· Stop production, quarantine product, and override operator decisions as necessary.

· Support ISO 9001 certification efforts and build scalable quality systems.

· Any other Quality-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Manufacturing experience required; prior quality/inspection experience strongly preferred.

· Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.

· Proficient with inspection and measurement tools.

· Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems preferred.

· Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

· Detail-oriented self-starter comfortable with process creation.

· High School Diploma/GED.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
