As our Quality Technician, you will be joining a dynamic team at a growing manufacturing company as a critical position in our business. This role is responsible for supporting the quality assurance and control functions within the organization. This role ensures that products, processes, and systems meet established standards and customer requirements. The Quality Technician will perform inspections, testing, documentation, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement. This position also provides support in preparing PPAP documentation and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to meet customer and industry requirements. Duties include but are not limited to the following (more information available upon request):
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of products and components using precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, etc.).
- Verify compliance of materials, parts, and assemblies to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Conduct quality testing, record data, and prepare inspection reports.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of PPAP documentation (control plans, FMEAs, capability studies, dimensional reports, material certifications, etc.).
- Complete and maintain First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) in accordance with AS9102 or customer requirements.
- Support calibration of measuring equipment and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, deviation reports, and control plans.
- Support internal audits by conducting and providing documentation/records.
- Communicate quality concerns with production, engineering, and management team.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and company procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in a quality technician, inspector, or manufacturing support role.
- Experience with PPAP and FAIR documentation strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of measurement tools, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or industry-specific).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around manufacturing environment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. as needed.
- Manual dexterity to handle small parts and precision tools.
- Primarily in a manufacturing/production setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and shop floor activity.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required based on production needs.
