As part of Osmose's expanding Quality team, we are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to support our commitment to excellence in utility infrastructure services. This field-based role is integral to our quality operations, working directly with field operations to proactively monitor and improve quality by ensuring the inspection and testing activities defined within the Osmose Quality Plan, and contractual requirements ensure that all work performed has for the client has met and exceeded industry standards, and client expectations.
This position requires the ability to perform strenuous outdoor work, strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, coaching, inter-personal, computer skills, the ability to work collaboratively, in a dynamic environment, and require extensive travel. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of quality, helping to identify opportunities for improvement and ensuring that our services not only meet contractual requirements but consistently exceed client expectations. - Conduct thorough quality job start audits, and quality control inspections of utility structures following inspection, treatment, repair, and restoration work
- Verify and validate that all field work has been completed according to established specifications and procedures
- Document all product and service non-conformances, and other quality-related issues, and communicate these findings, and recommendations for corrective and preventive actions
- Provide in-field training and mentoring to new field management on Quality process and procedures
- Assist with and/or review investigations into quality-related issues; recommend and monitor corrective and preventative actions escalating when necessary
- Review and audit job books for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with contractual and company requirements
- Attend job start meetings to communicate quality expectations and requirements to field crews
- Investigate quality issues and non-conformances, documenting findings and root causes
- Communicate audit results, findings, and recommendations to operations team and management
- Experience in utility operations, construction, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to read and follow maps, understand and follow complex procedures and specifications, and utilize field data collection devices (e.g. laptop, tablet)
- Experienced and adept at coaching employees, working with difficult people, and resolving difficult situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to speak clearly and confidently to employees, supervisors, and managers. Must be able to write using proper spelling, grammar, and style.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Valid Driver’s License
- Relevant certifications
- Previous experience with utility structures inspection or maintenance
