Job Description: Quality Supervisor

Overview: As a Quality Supervisor at CWI Houston you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will oversee and coordinate all activities related to quality assurance and control, striving for continuous improvement in processes and products in our ISO9001:2015 quality system. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, a positive attitude, and a commitment to maintaining compliance with industry regulations and internal standards. The Quality Supervisor will work closely with Manufacturing, Sales and Customer Service across the Wire Division to drive customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:1. Supervision and Team Leadership:

Lead the quality effort.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to ensure team members perform their duties effectively.
Foster a culture of quality consciousness and accountability within the team.


2. Quality Assurance Management:

Implement and support the ISO9001:2015 standards, acts as the site representative for the QMS.
Monitor and lead plant performance indicators (KPI's) to use and take necessary actions to meet or exceed agreed targets and budgets (example of such metrics are internal and external rejects, scrap, and rework, customer satisfaction levels/customer concerns, and plant safety).
Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols.
Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of products and processes to identify areas for improvement.
Inspect and test all incoming raw materials ensuring compliance to requirements
Calibration and documentation of all plant equipment.
Investigate and resolve quality issues and customer complaints in a timely manner.


2. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate documentation and records related to quality assurance activities.
Develop testing solutions on steel wire and manufactured products. Conduct necessary testing, collect data, and enter results into the ERP system.
Prepare and analyze quality reports and metrics for management review.
Communicate quality performance to management and recommend corrective actions as needed.


3. Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains.
Implement quality improvement initiatives and monitor their effectiveness.
Participate in cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and drive solutions.


4. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and certifications (ISO 9001).
Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices in quality management.

5. And other duties as required

Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Quality Management, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality control standards and methodologies.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001/AS9100).
Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


Additional Skills:

Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus.
Internal Auditor certified is a plus
Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


Working Conditions:

Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production processes.
Occasional travel may be required for supplier audits or training purposes.
