Responsible for the continued development and implementation of division-wide quality control programs and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives. Review and monitor quality system requirements to assure procedures are adequate and in compliance. Analyze internal and external quality data and initiate effective corrective actions to reduce and eliminate adverse trends. Provide quality technical support to all process owners including project management and operations. This role has the authority to stop production or shipment to any non-conforming product.
Collaborates directly with all departments to maintain overall adherence to QMS and customer-specific requirements. Monitors performance of the QMS including policy, procedures, manual, work instructions and related quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans) to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Manages the APQP process. Ensures all Customer Requirements are clearly identified and documented through the QMS. Manages the creation of new Metal Standard Specifications and Product Codes in the ERP system for new business. Champions the timely and effective dispositioning of all rejected material and proper defect classification. Direct the tracking of defects, and other regularly reported quality control and assurance data. Collects and analyzes trend data regarding internal rejections and external rejections, report results. Initiates, leads, audits and maintains defect prevention and corrective action programs based upon structured problem-solving efforts to improve quality performance. Engage with customers and suppliers as necessary to support quality programs and/or issues and drive awareness of customer requirements. Drive suppliers to resolve corrective actions and outstanding claims issues Support the internal sharing and adopting of best practices identified, technology enhancements and 5S requirements Maintains a clean work environment.
