The Purchasing Manager oversees all procurement activities, ensuring the timely sourcing of materials, components, and services to support production and business objectives in our Mills, WY office. The Purchasing Manager will lead supplier negotiations, manage vendor relationships, and optimize inventory strategies to balance cost, quality, and delivery performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, strategic, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.- Experience with ERP systems (Odoo experience preferred).
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with sales forecasts, production requirements, and inventory goals.
- Lead vendor selection, negotiations, and contract management to secure cost-effective and reliable supply sources.
- Monitor and optimize inventory levels to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring performance in quality, delivery, and cost.
- Oversee purchase requisitions and purchase order processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Supervise receiving activities and verify proper documentation, storage, and distribution of materials.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, inventory status, and supplier performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing needs with company objectives.
- Utilize ERP systems to track procurement activities and maintain accurate records.
- Abide by all policies and procedures established by DISA.
- Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.
- Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.
